A Bit About Kathy

I was born in Tampa, Florida in 1957 and fell in love with horses on a pony ride at a birthday party when I was three! From that day on, I wanted a horse so badly but living in a big city made that impossible. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to learn to ride at The B & R Ranch on Saturdays. And then my horse-owning dreams came true when my family moved to Wilmore, Kentucky, a small bluegrass town right in the middle of horse country!

I enjoyed having ponies and horses in my life until I went to college. After graduating from Georgia Southern College with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation in 1979, I married a career soldier and got to travel the world before settling permanently in Charleston , SC. in 1999.

The writing bug bit me in 1984 when we were stationed in Hawaii. Over the years, I wrote three horse stories but wasn't able to find a publisher. In 1994, as my husband was nearing retirement from the Army, I returned to school and earned a teaching degree for Middle School Language Arts. My manuscripts sat in a drawer until I retired from teaching in 2016! Once I retired, I pursued publishing my stories through Amazon KDP and have enjoyed seeing my books come to life
